Hyères and its well preserved 11th century medieval center will, for sure, strike you. Overlooked by its castle ruins, the city heart beats in every square and up sloppy narrow streets. Serving as many milestones – in such a way that the Parcours des Arts was created – galleries and local artists (like the Galerie Art Danh) are scattered in the center. This is not to mention the Cruise Friendly partners who will be more than happy to assist you on your shopping experience !
On lively Massillon square, surrounded by boutiques and cafes, pay a visit to the Templar Tower. On the town’s belt the Villa Romaine, a neoclassical residence of 1880 & its exotic park is one out of the many architectural treasures to be found in town. They tell us of Hyères past and its first steps as an upscale seaside resort on the Mediterranean shores.
Off the coast yet within an easy 30 minute shuttle boat ride, lie the Golden Islands (Iles d’or) of Porquerolles, Port-Cros and the Levant, all belong to the National Marine Park of Port Cros.
Hyères beaches and coastline propose a large range of watersports activities : kitesurf, windsurf, paddle, snorkeling, scuba diving, kayak … What will you choose ? The day will not be long enough !
